Court of the Round Tabletop

The Case of the Conjuration Killer: Part I

CRTTcast

Content Warning: This episode discusses serial murder and hate crime against women.

The heroes head to London to check up with their non-fantasy lives. While there, however, they find out that not even the most "normal" parts of their lives and city are safe from the machinations of the magic world.

Now, you may be thinking, "Where's Funeral and a Fiend: Part 2?" And the answer is, the vooooOOOOOIIIIIiiid. When we were very first starting out we were experimenting with different recording programs, and we lost an entire session of audio. It was almost entirely expositional, and this episode begins with a 2-minute recap of what our heroes learned in The Lost Episode (TM).

Note on the content warning:

We recorded this a very, very long time ago. It just so happened that I based this mystery on a historical case of multiple murders of underprivileged and abused women. Although those particular murders were not, like the shootings in Georgia this week, also racial hate crimes, this coincidence is a sickening reminder of how deeply, personally, and institutionally rooted hateful violence is.

Please consider donating to Atlanta's branch of Asian Americans Advancing Justice. They have set up a fund specifically to aid the families and communities of the victims of this week's atrocities, which you can access here: https://actionnetwork.org/fundraising/support-georgias-asian-american-community/

Obviously a lot of very good people have been working to educate about Anti-Asian crime long before these murders got notice in this fickle, 24-hour news cycle. Time Magazine put together this list of educational and political organizations with ways to plug in, which I would also encourage you to read: https://time.com/5947603/how-to-help-fight-anti-asian-violence/
